Plot Overview:

Street Fighter (2025) is a high-octane live-action adaptation of the iconic video game franchise that brings the world of global martial arts competition to the big screen with an epic story of personal vengeance, alliances, and a battle for supremacy. The film follows Ryu (Yoson An), a lone fighter on a journey to discover his true strength, as he faces off against the world’s deadliest warriors in the ultimate tournament, organized by the mysterious and sinister M. Bison (Donnie Yen).

The story begins with Ryu, a quiet and disciplined martial artist from Japan, who is struggling with the weight of his past. Haunted by a powerful dark force within him—an evil energy known as Satsui no Hado, Ryu seeks to escape the destructive path that has consumed him. He roams the world, fighting in underground tournaments in an effort to master his skills and find peace.

His journey leads him to a world-renowned fighting competition known as the Street Fighter World Warrior Tournament, where elite fighters from all over the globe gather to compete for glory, fortune, and power. Unbeknownst to the fighters, the tournament is orchestrated by M. Bison, a ruthless and power-hungry warlord who controls the criminal organization Shadaloo. Bison has sinister plans for the tournament, using it as a means to recruit the strongest warriors to serve his dark cause and further his ambition to conquer the world.

Ryu soon finds himself caught in a deadly game, battling against famous Street Fighter legends including Ken Masters (Michael B. Jordan), his fiery rival and best friend; Chun-Li (Liu Yifei), a skilled fighter and determined investigator seeking vengeance for her father’s death; Guile (John Cena), a determined American soldier on a mission to take down M. Bison; and Dhalsim (Dev Patel), a mystic fighter with the power to control fire and manipulate his body. As the tournament progresses, alliances are formed, and rivalries intensify, but Ryu’s focus remains on defeating M. Bison and confronting the dark force within him.

Ryu and his allies soon uncover the true extent of M. Bison’s plans: he is using the tournament as a front to recruit powerful fighters to test a new, experimental technology known as Genetic Power, which can enhance a fighter’s abilities and bend their will to Bison’s control. The fighters must now fight not just for glory, but to stop Bison from turning the world’s greatest champions into his puppets.

As the final battle looms, Ryu must come face-to-face with the destructive power of the Satsui no Hado within himself and decide whether to embrace the darkness or find another way to defeat Bison once and for all.
